Project Day

Junior students at Tamatea High School recently spent a day working on a project of their choice. The students chose an interest and as groups worked to explore a big idea. Students with a music talent got together and discussed how they could do something worthwhile with their musical abilities. Dr Lance O'Sullivan

Tamatea High School were proud to be able to host Dr Lance O’Sullivan in their school this week. Lance was in Hawke’s Bay to present at the Beyond Me Inspiration Conference that was organised by Ironmāori creator, Heather Skipworth. Fast, Clever and Ambitious

Logan Carroll is the head boy of Tamatea High School and Mariah Wainohu is the head girl. THS Endorsement Students

All the Tamatea High School students who achieved endorsement for NCEA last year have been celebrating their achievement with their Principal who took them to lunch at EIT’s Scholars restaurant. Freedom to Choose

At the end of 2017 the leaders at Tamatea High School reviewed their uniform rules – especially given there was a lot of media attention on unisex uniforms. In consultation with the students the school decided to change the school rule to allow the girls to wear short and long pants. Flower of Scotland Bloom in Ahuriri

This week the Ahuriri rugby teams played two development teams from Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh, Scotland. Ahuriri is the combined William Colenso College, Tamatea High School and Te Ara Hou rugby team and it was a real priviledge for them to play the international visitors. One Year On - Stella Dornan

Stella Dornan has just completed her first year at Tamatea High School and she is thrilled with her success. The Ahuriri Community of Learning (COL) have appointed Robin Fabish, Principal of Tamatea High School as their new Lead Principal.Minister of Education, Hekia Parata, is driving the COL initiative to promote collaboration between primary and secondary schools.
