Dear Parents and caregivers
Individual Development Plans (IDP’s) – All Students – Years 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13
IDP’s have been put in place by Tamatea High School to strengthen the partnership between students, school and parents/caregivers.
An IDP is a written plan which is part of the process of meeting students’ needs. It identifies:
¸ What are the students’ learning needs
¸ What the student needs to learn
¸ What are the students interests and goals
¸ What people will do to improve achievement
¸ What resources are needed
The Student Release day (IDP day), Wednesday 27th September, has been set aside for House Group Teachers to meet with students and parents/caregivers in order to carry out the planning and goal setting necessary for the rest of the year and in the future.
As this meeting is highly valuable, no normal classes will run on this day however all students and families are expected to attend an IDP meeting.
The IDP takes approximately 20 minutes, so appointment times are required. IDP appointments are to be booked on line at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz – please contact the school office on 06 844 6600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request the event code so that you can log in and select your child’s House Group Teacher and preferred time.
IDP meetings are held in House Group rooms unless otherwise informed. A map of where these meetings are held will be displayed at the school office.
