Our Young Enterprise Group, Tihi Plus, will be exhibiting their product at the local Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market on Sunday 13th August 2017.
Tihi Plus is the entrepreneurial brain-child of a group of talented students at Tamatea High School and is part of the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES), backed by the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT).
Tihi Plus products are made of thin, toasted strips of French oak, known as staves. These staves are used by the wine industry to add flavour to wine and are then discarded. Tihi Plus uses this by-product of the Hawke’s Bay wine industry to make their elegant food platters. Each recycled oak stave is individually sanded back to its original wood, checked for quality and then crafted. Every Tihi Plus item is individually hand-made.
The dark wood, shadows left from the wine, the clean lines, all create a striking setting for cheeses, fruits, canapes … Tihi Plus platters are a simple, elegant centre piece. They are a unique piece that would be an attractive addition to any food service and a great gift idea!
